white powder on zucchini?

Last summer along with the blight on the tomatoes there was white powdery looking coating on my zucchini. I cut all those leaves off and they still grew, but what was that and how do I prevent it?

It's called powdery mildew. It's another fungal condition, and the same treatments that work against the blight (including milk solution and baking soda solution) work against the powdery mildew.
