Broken corn stalk

I searched the forums and could not find anything, so maybe that gives you insight on the intelligence level of this family. We were in the garden and my daughter was helping and fell into the raised bed. She took down two corn stalks with her. One was able to be secured back up, the other snapped midway, an ear and stalk broke off, should I pull it out, or will it
do anything from this point. Hate to kill anything, even a plant. Thanks in advance. There are two parts to the plant now.
I love this! - There can be no other occupation like gardening in which, if you were to creep up behind someone at their work, you would find them smiling.

Doesn't matter. Pull it or leave it. It is not likely to produce another ear.
