Why are my zuchinis so small?

My zuchini plants are very big but the zuchini is the size of my little finger. Why???????????

How long have they been growing? They are always small when they just appear, but get longer with time. Also, what kind of soil are they growing in? The more you tell us, the more we can help you.

Are there pointed little buds on the end of the "zucchini's? If so, you're looking at the female flower bud. After they open, and the bees do their thing to transfer pollen from the male flowers (the ones without the baby zucchinis which you should've been seeing for about a week now) to the female flowers, then these little ones will grow up to be REAL zucchinis. :wink:
