Radish help

Have a couple of rows of D'Avignon radishes. They are pushing up above ground.
SHort term-should I mix some compost and good dirt and "top dress" so they don't crack? or what do you all suggest?
Long term- I tilled way deep but we have had two weeks of dry weather and I will admit to poor watering. Has the subsoil gotten to hard for them to go south(down) Next time- more comost and better water?
Any help would be well helpful..thanks Tate

Hi there! In my experience, this is what radishes do. They're a small seed & we sow them very shallow. The top 1/4 or 1/3 are always exposed. Adding more soil is not necessary. I always have a few that crack, that's just the way it is, but the cracking is not because their tops are exposed. Hope this helps, good luck!
