grow carrots in a cold frame?

We want to grow carrots this year. We don't have any experience with carrots. Can I grow them in a cold frame the whole growing season? Any advise on growing carrots will be greatly appreciated! :D

Save your cold frame for things that need it more. I'm also in SW Ohio (Cincinnati) and I have carrot seeds planted in the ground. They are in a poly tunnel (plastic over hoops) but that's because they are in with transplants that need it more. Carrots are cold weather crops; the seeds can be planted "as soon as the soil can be worked." That should be now for you.
