When To Pick Radishes?

This is my first time growing radishes. How do I know when to pick them?

When the tops start to show above the ground, pull one to see how big it is. When they are an inch or so across, they are ready, but younger is better. They get woody and not crisp if left too long.

The tops of the radish, not just the greens, right?

You can take a finger and move some soil from around a root and see how big it is. Harvest when they are the size you want them.

I would assume that you know that radishes are a part of some mesclun mixes. You can harvest the tender tops to give a little zest to a salad. Harvest the radishes any time that you wish from this size of a dime to the size of a quarter or larger depending upon the variety. They do tend to get more spicy with increasing size.
