Storage for potatoes, sweet potatoes, apples, winter squash

I have been increasingly dissatisfied with the storage of root crops in the fruit cellar. It is just a little to dry and warm for storage. I do not know how many people on this forum have hobby greenhouses but I end up storing stuff under the benches that I no longer use. Well I pitched it all and built a 22â€

What temperature are you keeping the veggies at?

I am SO tired of throwing out potatoes, onions, garlic, carrots when they go bad! I just can't seem to find a good place in the house to keep any for more then a month. I don't have a GH but yours looks like a really good idea!!

No veggies yet. Apples will be the first in about Oct 1st. Every thing else about Nov 1 st. I grow salad greens all winter and the temps near the floor are about 60 deg. I am hoping for 45-50 deg in the bin.
