First grn pepper has a black line on it, what is this?

Was out looking at my grn pepper today and it has a straight blak line on it going legthwise, it is not a insect bite. or boring in it, or does not look like a nibble. Looks like something the pepper has produced naturally on it!!! Does anyone know what it could be? Should I just go ahead and pick it? Tammy

It is normal, some varieties are more prone to it, Jalapeño for one.

I've had black stripes appear on peppers when I've overfed them with plant food.

Thanks all just get freaked out when I see this thinking something is wrong at the point of picking them now, so that the others ones can get bigger, thanks Tammy
