Root bound pepper plants

I have a few pepper plants potted up in gallon pots. They're producing fruit now, but I can see they are root bound. Will they continue to do well or have issues over the long run if I leave them in these smaller pots?

Well, as usual the answer is it depends.... You didn't say where you are located. If you are in Calgary or one of those short season places with only a few more frost free weeks, probably not worth messing with. But if you are like me and have another ten weeks in the season, I think your plant will likely have problems before then and it will be worth it to upgrade to a bigger container, to keep it producing through the season.
