I'm planting a fall garden this year first time ever in my 10 or so year gardening career. I have been thinking about it for years and it never happened. I would just get burned out late in the summer. I have recommended dates for planting from a local ext. office but couldn't find anything for when to plant a few items I would like to try like onions, celery and peas.
Here is what I have came up with so far, by the way I'm in Zone 5b, the local ext. office posts 10\8 as the first fall frost. But around here that is WAY up in the air as far as frost dates go.
Mustard Aug 01-Aug 30
Broccoli July 25-Aug 05
Cauliflower July 20-Aug 05
Aruglua Aug 01-Aug 10
Carrot July 25-July 30
Brussles Sprouts July 25-July 30
Spinach Aug 01-Aug 20
So what do you think, do those dates sound right. To me they seem a little early. Plus I heard it may be a warm August and maybe even September.
Hell. I even mad a pretty cool little 'quick reference guide' mainly for myself to use. I would post it up but don't know how to post documents.
