butternut squash

I planted my butternut squash in may... so will they be ready to pick in August or September?

Well I think it depends a little on your variety and location - but it should be :).

Well they usually say at least 110 days to maturity, but that's from when the seed was planted. If you planted a good sized plant in May, you can probably count back another month for when the seed was planted. But I would think any way you count it, it would not be August. It's why squash and pumpkins are fall crops. I think you are looking at Sept to early Oct.

Welcome Polly.

I think September for the squash.

Welcome! You'll find lots of good advice and help here.

I planted my butternut seeds early in May at slightly over 5000' - several squashes 4-5" long already with dozens more smaller - I'm thinking late September for a full crop.
