Well, maybe not *everywhere,* but for whatever reason, my lawn seems to attract lots of slugs, and they move faster than their name suggests.
I don't even want to necessarily harm the little guys, but they are hindering more than helping the couple of vegetable plants I've grown (tomatoes and green peppers, and I want to plant some peonies and dahlias as well). Anyone have any organic solutions to the problem?
Yes, you *do* want to harm the little guys. They will EAT your plants down to nubs.

you mean what they keep doing to my plants? if only there was something more pre-emptive than vengeance...
I noticed today that (of the five varieties of potato I'm testing out) the russian banana fingerlings (in the pic above) are taking the brunt of the slug damage; blues, russets, and reds are mostly getting moderate damage; and the yukon golds haven't been touched. interesting.
