Pests are eating our vegetable garden!
We planted our new vegetables this past weekend (tomatoes, cabbage, green pepper, cucumbers and watermelons). Something is eating the leaves of the plants, and my husband sprinkled lime on the leaves to discourage the pests. Will this kill our plants? Any suggestions for some organic pest control?
The remedy depends on what kind of insect or other pest is eating your veggies.
Slug/snail damage has been the subject of several recent threads here at THG. Just use the Search bar at the top left of any page and look for the phrase "Snail Hunting." This will return just a few--but very focused--threads.
Sometimes the critter responsible for damage can be identified via photos of the damage, if you can post any.
Or if you've seen anything resting on the underside of leaves...or residing on the top of the soil...
Whatever it is, we'll be able to help you drive it away--or eliminate it almost 99%.
