Harvesting Radishes

If I were to harvest my radishes when ready, could I replant the stems? If I cleaned them and put them back in soild in a timely manor, would the stems re-generate more plants?

I'm just wondering if I should just start back from seed.

Thanks

MamaGreenThumb,

I'm not sure if this would work or not, but I'm doubtful. Radishes germinate so readily why not just plant succession style. Every two weeks plant another short row. That should keep you in Radishes.

I don't know; I've never been able to develop a taste for radishes, so I don't grow them.

As to other root veggies, I either use bought seeds, collect seeds, or buy starts. I've never tried re-rooting tops. Hmmm...

That's just it, we've never tried. We have plenty of seeds, and plenty of room to start more, which we'll probably do. I'm just wondering if they'll take root, and how long it will take for them to produce.

I'll try it, and let you guys know.

OK,
You have brought out the gambler in me.
My bet is you can get some of the greens to reroot. Guessing < 50%.
The result will likely be an inferior crop with smaller harvestable root.
Any other guesses?
Would the type make a difference?
