What's eating my lettuce?! not slugs

I at first thought it was slugs which may be contributing but I don't find much slime anywhere. it has to be some sort of caterpillar or worm they are decimating my lettuce overnight and leaving piles of poo behind. I found this caterpillar/worm on my snap peas and cilantro but his poop that is all over the peas is much smaller. although any info on how to keep them off my snap peas and cilantro would be greatly appreciated. Here is some pics of the lettuce damage and the poop maybe someone can tell me who is the culprit and how to stop them. also a blurry pic of the snap pea killer

I don't have an answer for you, but if it were my garden, I would go out late at night with a flashlight and examine the tops and on the undersides of the lettuce leaves. I think you would find your culprit in short order! :)

I'm no expert, but it looks to me as if your snap peas muncher is the caterpillar of the cabbage butterfly, a white to light yellow butterfly with small black eye markings on the wings. I have those butterflies in my yard a lot, and that same-looking caterpillar is the only kind I ever find.

Yikes, that looks like the caterpillar that went to town on my tomatoes last year. And they left huge piles of poop on the leaves. That's how I found the little *insert profanity here*.

Just killed about 5 of them little green caterpillars today, almost didn't spot them on the underside of the leaves.

Yup same to me but I had earwigs and worms yuck. I hate butterflies, a couple days ago I used to just poke around my veggies garden with my bare hands not anymore after I picked up the wierd growth on my lettuce, which was a worm. eww
