Save my Jalapeno

I have a potted Japalpeno plant and up until 3 days ago it was doing very well. I was watering consistantly- the plant was producing lots of peppers, leaves were green and healthy... Now there are no leaves. They all just fell off in a matter of 2 days.

Any ideas? Is my plant a goner with so many peppers about to ripen?

one of my cayennes looked shrivelled, so I picked some of the peppers off before they were ripe and watered it heavily and that seemed to help it perk back up. maybe try that?
