Hi everyone,
I have about 100 onion seedlings growing under grow lamps at 16h/days. They are 4 weeks old and they seem to be doing great. Good root structure, nice color and nice height.
The problem is that they are almost all bending or drooping in an arc form. Is this normal? Should I trim them down to 3" or just let them be?? By the way the seeds are certified organic and so is my soil-less starting mix. They had a feeding of fish emulsion 2 days ago which didn't affect the bending thing.
Gardeners views seems to be divided when it comes to the topping of onions.
Thanks
Andre

Yes, sorry about that, I missed the nutrient profile in your original post. Well, I'm in a pickle, your using grow lights so that isn't the problem.
How close are the grow lights from the plants? If they are to close, you might be stressng your onions with heat. That's about the only thing I can think of.
Hey Doc or anyone else what do you think?
