Corn

I would like to plant a small amount of corn this year. Are there plants I should not plant the corn next to? When is the best time to sow? Appreciate any help, I am in zone 5
Thanks

Sow the corn after the last frost. And realize that corn is a heavy feeder so don't plant it next to other heavy feeders like Tomatoes. Also tomatoes and corn are preyed upon by the same worm.

Use a good fertilzer with your corn. For now a nice composted manure will suffice.

And beans and squash or beans and potatoes are companion plants of corn and will help in it's growth and production. Though Squash and potatoes are not compatible with each other so keep that in mind.

I don't know about you but up here in SW Canada it has been unseasonably cool to even cold this March and April. Brrrrrrrr! I hope to get my potatoes in this coming weekend but, darn, it has been cold.
