Question on building gardens

Filled in my pool I am now to the stage where I an putting in grass and leaves building the base .... I do have some boxes filled with grass and top soil mix for Tomatoes, peppers, carrots, watermelons, cucmbers,

Any suggestions on what I need to keep putting in... I useally put down a layer then cover with top soil...

Grass and Leaves is a good start. You have a healthy mix of greens (high in N) and browns (high in C). You could add coffee grounds and/or manure which, are both greens, alfalfa is a good brown to add. Also, if you are near an ocean you can add seaweed (a green).

Once you have planted your plants, some good organic fertilizers are liquid fish emulsion (2-3-0) and/or liquid seaweed emulsion. There is also a seaweed fertilizer that comes in the solid form. You can refer to my post enititled Leaves and Nutrients for information on different items you may want to compost.
