Question on squash and temprature

Hello, I live in SE Tx. and the temprature is about 95, is that to hot to plant yellow squash if you cover with a little hay and water well? What do you thank???????? :?:

By yellow squash are you referring to yellow zucchinni or some sort of winter squash?

Do they have flesh similar to that of a zucchini or is it dense like that of a winter squash such as pumpkin or Hubbard?

Also, when do you harvest the squash? In the summer or in the fall?

I thank it would be a winter squash, but we do plant them it the spring,too.
