more pumpkin flower problems.

gah. I pruned off some of the male flower buds and I think that helped to get me a few female ones - but they all have yellowed and shriveled up while the buds were still really small! anyone know what I should do? considering its already august, I hope it's not too late. :roll:

northeastern pennsylvania. yeah, it's been realll hot for up here lately, starting to cool down a llittle. maybe that's it, I'll look to see if any are growing now that its not as hot. thanks.

I read somewhere that the female flowers of squash appear after the male flowers. If you started your pumpkins a bit late, you may not see the female flowers yet since they are in the same family.
