Fill a shallow pan, cake pan or pie pan with soapy water place it in the garden next to the infested plant. Set a desk lamp next to the pan shine the light on the water so bugs can see the light reflection in the water. Bugs will crawl in and die.
Has anyone tried this?

I have done it to good effect for stinkbugs/ squash bugs that make it indoors. Haven't tried it yet outdoors, because of no electricity, but when (not if!! ) I start seeing them in my garden this year, I plan to set something up. Even a flashlight shining in to the bowl should work. Also I bought a bug vacuum:
Bring it on!!
