Yellow-ish spots on mint

My mint started getting these yellow-ish brown-ish spots. Do you know what's happening?

It looks like a sucking pest, it might be thrip damage or aphids. The tiny insects are hard to see without magnification. A hand lens would be a good investment. If you look on the underside of the leaf you might see a discoloration. Aphids are bigger and would be easier to spot on the bottom of the leaves. They would be soft and sticky feeling.
