Help! My Magnolia has some form of leaf curl

Help! All the new growth on my Magnolia White Caviar tree's are affected by leaf curl. Can anyone tell me what might be causing this and how to fix it?

They have been in the ground for about a year now and this spring/summer they have all developed leaf curl on their new growth. Some are worse then others.

They did have a small amount of aphids on them, which I sprayed off with the hose, but that was 6 months ago and they are still effected. I have tried pruning back the affected growth on some of the trees but the new growth is just as curled.
Other than the curled leaves the tree's seem to be growing okay.

I had a similar leaf curl problem with my lilac. It happened after I spilled some fertilizer on the grass very close to the plant. Your problem could be from some sort of chemical or fertilizer. I'm wondering what is on the other side of that fence. Did anyone use herbcides near the plant? Is the fence on a property line? Perhaps your neighbor used some chemicals?
