something is eating my broccoli

This is third year in a row that I am unsuccesful in growing broccoli. This year I see small caterpillars, but to small to pick up. I live in zone 9. I will try my best to attach pictures. I have basil growing next to it and something is eating it too, but I do not see the pest.

Caterpillars can usually be controlled with Bt. If there are slugs or snails you have to look for them in the evening or early morning. If you don't see anything under the leaves like aphids and large holes in the leaves it is usually from the caterpillars, snails, slugs, or beetles. Beetles hide in the mulch or just under the soil when not feeding.

Start doing some homework on cabbage moths and cabbage worms. I fighting them and hopefully have them in check for the rest of the season. They'll munch your garden to nothing in no time, start yesterday if you can. Zone 9 as well.
