New addition to my garden patrol.

Saw a Grass-carrying Wasp (Isodontia mexicana) in my garden a couple of days ago and that is what it was doing. Carried a dried blade right into the end of one of the bamboo supports for my tomatoes. I've only seen them once before, many years ago, in a stack of lumber. Maybe they will become a permanent part of my patrol. :) Here's a photo of the nest.

Good stuff! I'm slowly working on being able to identify the multitude of (what I am hoping are) Garden Patrol Friends. It's like watching Discovery Channel! I've never seen the grass carrying wasp or for that matter even know that they existed, but just adds to the constant reaffirmation that nature is cool!
