What Insect Is This??

Hi guys! I'm new to gardening and is not familiar with other insects except for bees and butterflies.

Could anyone please help me know what insect this is and would this benefit my plant? I think it's been laying here on my lemon balm for a couple of days now.

It looks kind of big unless you have tiny hands. So this might not be it -- did it have a stripe?
