Winter indoor garden ally

This morning when I gave my plants their daily morning misting, I discovered a new ally in controlling the fungus gnats 8)

I am terribly arachnophobic except when it comes to my garden. It's nice to find spiders back there.

Also, find yourself some praying mantises. You can actually go online and purchase egg cases to set out in your garden. Ladybugs are also good natural predators!

but note Applestar was talking about her indoor garden. I don't think you would want to release praying mantises or ladybugs indoors.

Apple doesn't need to buy the p.m.'s or ladybugs for outdoors. Her wonderful, diverse, organic garden already attracts plenty of them.

Last spring I got to watch a (naturally occurring) p.m. egg case hatch out what seemed like a thousand tiny baby mantises. So cool!
