Cabbage loopers and flour

I searched the disease control forum for something on this and came up zeros, so I'm just going to ask.

As is the case every year, I battle the cute little green 'pillars that chew the living daylights out of any and all brassicas they can find in my yard. Spraying works..........kind of. But I want to try the flour/flour+cayenne pepper sprinkled on the leaves.

Allegedly the worms eat the flour, swell up and die.

Are there any witnesses to this form of execution? Is it feasible?

no idea. seems like mixing the flour w/ cayenne would make it less likely that they'd want to eat it, though.
