I saw this insect hanging out on my Goji Berry tree. I didn't really observe any damage around the area it was hanging out at but that doesn't say it isn't harmful. Best way I can describe it is that is looked like it could be related to a grasshopper, but it had some other features that made it look different too. It had some light red striped on its back too. Anyway here is a pic:

It looks like an immature Katydid nymph. If I'm right, it's squarely a Bad Bug, since most members of that family are plant eaters. They're almost as bad as lubber hoppers in terms of damage.
