Rosemary

They are in everything, including rosemary.

There is a regular something in the oregano, shows as white spots (not always snail-trail. One picks off bad leaves and discards. 'They' took hold of a large 16" oregano pot. I finally dug the old out and about 8" dirt and said by-by to the trash. Then new dirt, new starts. From a limited web search, looks like THRIPS. Then white spots on thyme. Again, try to remove worst stems. Did I say mint, basil.

Back to the rosemary. Leaves-needles show mottled brownish coloring, and not pretty green, soft. I am thinking it's these thrips again, though can't imagine anything wanting to live inside a rosemary leaf!

FWIW, was visiting at a farmers market I should be starting this week, and talking to a fellow vendor. He has the same buggers on his oregano and thyme, hasn't hit his rosemary...yet. As we were chatting, picking off infected leaves of his herb starts.

The mild winter good for some things, as in heating bill, but junk if it means a shift in bugs!
