Is this an ant or a termite?

Well, whatever they are, they were running like crazy around my seedlings and they were inside some pots, cucumber and rockmelon. The plants don't seem damaged by them, but who knows because there have been some other bugs chewing around.
I was wondering if they were actually eating some other bugs instead.... not sure... After annoying them for some minutes, they disappeared...

That's an ant. Termites have a very different body structure - here's a comparison.

Most of the time, if there are ants around and climbing up plants, there are sucking insects on the plants.

Cool! Now I know I don't have to worry about them! Thanks!
