Can anybody help identify this growth on my window?

I am wondering is it fungal or something insect related.

As you can see it looks squidgy on the inside. My grandad thought it might be a puffball type fungus, as far as google can tell me it could be slime mold, but I am open to suggestions, should I get rid of it and is it toxic?

Many Thanks!

Very interesting! I don't really know. It could be a fungus or it could be egg sac for some insect. I would move it outdoors!

Ya I don't think that's a fungus. I'm a country boy and I'm pretty certain that's a spider egg sack -gooy now, bursting with creepy crawlies later.

Turns out since I posted that, it changed a lot and decreased in size slightly and went firm instead of squidgy. Luckily as it was outside anyway, possibly due to the rain, it started to loose its skin to reveal a powdery, muddy coloured inside. Which seemed to follow the principle of the 'puffball' the spores didn't seem to move as fast though as theres been so much rain on it, it's still there but slowly decreasing in size with barely and skin left on it as most of it has cracked off!
