termites

How do we deal with termites in the garden?

I went to move some bean plants today and dug one up and there were atleast 100 of these things all in the roots.

I don't believe that termites attack healthy plants. So there must have been some problem that killed roots, then the termites went to work.

I started digging around and there were huge tree roots from pine trees that were cut down a few years back. Think that would have been what they were from? I removed the roots today, talking about some work! hopefully they won't come back or will move some other place. I was planning to plant tomatoes there this year.
