EggPlant insect egg or something

There is this egg(or something else) on my egg plant, it just showed up recently and I've seen a couple of them. But like what ever layed it only layed one at a spot its pretty big as well. That why I start thinking it could be a cocoons of some insect. I did take a photo of it. here is the link of what the egg/cocoon look likes: https://tinypic.com/r/ejsxsp/5

It definitely looks more like a coccoon than an egg. I'd leave it, myself.

Might be one of these, or an Australian cousin, since this is from the UK:

You could transfer it to a jar and see what comes out. Just be sure to put a piece of damp sponge or something in there, to maintain decent humidity. Rubberband a piece of something over the top so it breathes ok too. And keep it out of direct sunlight, so it doesn't fry!
