Snowberries & powdery mildew?

I have a semi-circle of snowberries planted in partial shade, in San Francisco's Mission District. New, healthy shoots are coming up, but the main plants are heavily afflicted with what looks to me like powdery mildew. My question is whether this is something I should expect with these plants regardless of sun exposure, or whether transplanting would be the best solution. In other words, treat topically or transplant? If treatment is the solution, what is a safe, effective method?

I haven't grown snowberries myself, so don't know if they are one of the things that are prone to powdery mildew, like my lilac bushes are. Safe, harmless treatments for the powdery mildew include a milk solution or a baking soda solution. Type those into the Search the Forum Keyword Box to find more info, recipes, etc.
