Garden Patrol : Air Division, on the job!

just after sunset, when it was still plenty light out, we came home in time to count 5 dragonflies pattern sweeping the front lawn and one side of the house. Then two hummingbirds came barreling through to scatter them, but the 5 of them regrouped immediately to continue their interrupted patrol.

The incident cleared the hummers heads, and they started flying individually too. Hopefully, they were also working on bug detail as well.

Nice... for some reason dragonflies are something I rarely see in our garden.

The hummingbirds like the feeders and nectar flowers, but they also need protein and at that time of day were probably scooping up lots of mosquitos. GO HUMMINGBIRDS! :)
