Squash vine borers

All of my zucchini plants have Squash vine borers . I cut them out, but I don't think the plants will live. How do you keep them out? Many of them already wilted and died. Does anybody have any tips? :(

Type squash vine borers into the Search the Forum key word box and you will find TONS that's been written here about them.

I have always lost my zucchinis to them. This year, I wrapped the bottom few inches of the stem including a little bit below ground and a few inches above ground in tin foil AND I am growing it under row cover. So far it is doing great... Bigger than it's ever gotten, usually they have died by now.
