What is on my Pansy?

So, these little black specs have shown up on my pansy. I thought maybe they were seeds, but it's on the highest flower, where no seeds could fall. Are they eggs of some kind?

I blasted most of them off with the hose and then misted the leaf they were on with a little neem.. What do you think they are? Hopefully they weren't something beneficial. :-/

It looks like caterpillar excrement to me. Probably from the one that was chomping on that leaf in the first picture. :)

Also those are petunias, not pansies.

LOL OH I knew that Rainbow! I don't know why I typed pansy! Probably because I have pansies in a pot below these... My mother would be so proud.. :-/

Okay so Caterpillar poo.. I will have to do some searching for the culprit.. Thanks guys!
