How can you prevent leaf miner damage?
How can you stop the insect larvae cold in it's tracks and prevent leaf miner damage? The leaves of my young beets are decimated.

I really think the best way is to cut them out with scissors as soon as you notice the scribble. At that point, they're still inside the leaf. If you want to save at least part of the leaf, clip off just the scribble, otherwise, take the whole leaf and put them in the trash (not compost). That's ONE larva that didn't make it to adulthood to mate and make more.
