Help! Strange bugs - Swarming Avocado trees..

STRANGE looking flying bugs on my little avocado plants. They appeared yesterday and were swarming and crawling all over the little avocado trees and dirt. I've read up and sprayed with soapy water, left soap water out to catch them, and also put ground cinnamon atop the soil. It's gotten rid of many but I'm really curious as to why and what they are?!! The avocado trees are potted plants - they're green, growing everyday - no yellow appearance so I'm thinking they're not from overwatering.. In fact yesterday I stopped watering them and now the avocado trees are droopy and bending sideways from lack of water I guess. Typically I always keep them inside except for letting them sit outside for an hour daily - everything else is sun through our window.

Really curious as to if anyone has seen these strange looking bugs before! They're creepy looking at first I thought they had white/black stripes however after the zoomed photos they appear to be white/green stripes?!
Anyone seen any of these weird little bugs before? If so do you know what causes them?

Hopefully the attachment of these little critters worked. I'm curious to know if anyone else has had these lovely little creeps!

(Wanted to attach photos of the plants themselves but the web page says they're too large a file to attach?)

Looks like a nymph stage of a banded Thrip which can controlled with a Neem Oil based spray.
