Christmas cactus freeze

We moved to Michigan and my Christmas cactus spent a night in a moving truck at 26 degrees. Half is standing tall and half is wilted. Can the cactus be saved?

I think you’ll probably lose the wilted portion, but maybe the other half was somewhat protected by being against something else.

Keep in location that is comfortable 65~75°F and keep in bright light but out of direct sun — east to south window sunlight through lace or sheer curtain for example. Be careful not to overwater while it’s stressed — wilted doesn’t mean it needs water. Don’t fertilize until it shows signs of recovery — you’ll probably end up cutting off the branches that wilted then shriveled… but it will grow back.
