I have this long stem aloe, I like to cut the bottom dry stem , can you share some tips how to do it right, many thanks

Sorry, but I don't quite understand what part of the plant you are talking about cutting. None of the "leaves" look particularly dry. Are you talking about the main trunk of your plant? Where would you want to cut it and why?

Yes. it's possible to razor off the brown stem anywhere below the leaves to within a finger's width of the soil surface. Cut it at a slight angle, and let it dry off. It will probably weep a mound of clear sap. I would blot that off, but it may not be necessary. I would lay the cut off top on its side and let the cut dry off for a day or more. Then the stem end could be planted in whatever growing medium you choose. You may lose some leaves this way.

A better way to handle it if you don't like the bare stem is to replant in a much wider pot, laying the stem down on the soil surface. The leafy growth will start to upright itself as the stem starts growing additional roots.

Oooh maybe a windowbox? I’m guessing old stems and roots could be cut off later once the new roots are growing well.

I believe if you do it this way, baby aloe c/would sprout from the buried stem and the stem could be chopped apart with the new babies and their roots.

That's what I was thinking, too. Although the windowbox shape is ideal. Long enough, just wide enough, not too deep.

May I please also ask that --
1- we bought this plant as it is on the photo, we are new to plants

2- we did re-potted it , by using a mixture of perlite + building sand + top soil

3- we are in UK, where because outside temp is +- 4'c, thus the plant now is sitting indoor, I noticed the growth is slow, the leaves color turned dull green, other smaller aloe too not looking very happy.

4- there is also similiar situation to the Jade plant.

Any advices is much appreciated.
