Hi Issy,

Succulents do best in hot dry conditions with lots of sun.

Your container is acting like a terrarium. I holds moisture. Probably more than your plant needs. If your plant is inside it may not be getting enough sun.

I do not like pot saucers except as water containers for a bird bath or as planters for succulents. I have a 24" saucer under my patio cover with an assortment of succulents. Since it is under cover it does not get rain. I generally ignore them giving them a drink only when I notice a little shrinking of the leaves. If I lived in a drier climate I would pay a little more attention to their water needs.

I would transplant to a shallow bowl or pot saucer 2" wider than the diameter of your plant. Use cactus mix. If you have a covered area outside put it out. My plants have been on the patio table for 3 years summer and winter. If you have harsh winters bring it in and keep it in a very sunny window away from drafts. Succulent and cactus gardens do best with neglect.
