Yellow-green egg like appeared on soil

There are these yellow-green egg like thing on the soil of my succulent. It started out as a small patch, after a few weeks, it multiplied. My succulent started to drop its leaves at a fast rate after the egg-like things appeared. You can see the egg-like things at the upper left corner of the pot, right beside the pink rock.

What should I do? What are those egg-like things on the soil?

I suspect it's some kind of fungus or slime mold. If so, then the reason your succulent is in distress might not be because of it, but because of the conditions that favored its growth -- damp, moist soil.
