Prickly Pear Cactus

101_2560spiny.jpg
My neighbor gave me some cactus and I have had it in a small pot, well fast forward to late summer and the cactus have outgrown their pot, so my hubby got me two long containers and I spent a few minutes fixing their new home. I knew they had long spines most of the time, but did NOT know that they had tiny spines too! So I spent a few agonizing moments taking the pads apart and putting them in their new home and a few more agonizing moments TRYING to get all the little spines out of my fingers!LOL! Here is the result, I hope they live because I sure do not want to have to handle them again!

Ouch! Those tiny spines are the worst!

For future reference, I found kitchen nitrile gloves worked well to ward them off.
