ice plants for zone 6b

Hi everyone. My wife and I moved to a new house that came with a fair amount of gardening that I am looking forward to.
Along the front walk are two long mulch beds. I am trying to find a nice flowering plant to fill them with that will last. I really love the ice plants and their flowers that last all season. Can I plan that here? I am in zone 6b and the lawn does have a sprinkler that comes on every other morning.

I planted ice plants around our mailbox last year in the hopes they would survive the winter. So far it doesn't look like much is coming back this year :( While this was definitely one of the coldest, snowyest winters I'm not sure the ice plants survive in our climate well even though the ones we did were classified for our Zone.

Sorry I don't have any good news. I enjoyed them throughout one season though!
