Raisin on my Saguaro

I got it in April, and only watered it once, but it seems to have a little bit of a "raisin" look to it on one side near the bottom. My question is, will this go away after awhile of proper watering, or will it look like that forever? If pics are needed, let me know. Thanks

Just watered it yesterday with 2 cups of water instead of the 4-6 cups last time. It's very hot right now, and the top couple inches has already dried out. The chopstick revealed moisture down below that. We'll see what happens, but hopefully I can keep any more "raisin" from forming.
