Question for Creating a Cacti Terrarium

For what its worth I'm going to try and make a cacti terrarium, I have a question or two.

of all the things I've read about creating a terrarium, including this post and the link that was contained inside. from what it sounds like I can basicaly make the soil and such the same as with any other terrarium, but upon further digging about the internet I found this site which shows needing to have a layer of broken pot or stones of some sort, a layer of fibrous moss, potting soil, and finaly a layer of gravel or sand. though those directions are for potting a plant and I was curious as to if it would be the same process in creating the terrarium just on a somewhat larger scale.

from what I can gather from various sites it seems that theres realy not that much of a differance in creating a terrarium for tropical type plants and cacti aside from leaving the top off of the terrarium. I assume I would need a heat lamp of some sort to put over the top because the room I'm going to place it in doesn't have very good lighting.

I know that it needs to be well drained and all but because of its size and the relative differance from a potted planter I was wondering if this would affect any of the drainage or if it will be fine as long as the water doesn't pool at some level.

for what its worth once I get all of these things sorted out, I'll be more then willing to post a tutoral with pictures so that anyone else who might be curious about this will have a better guide to follow then the mess that the internet provides ^^

Thanks tons
