I have just bought a 100 cacti "crown mix" seeds. The instructions simply say "This is a great mix of sizes and shapes, they will grow easily. Sow in a tray, water. Cover and put in a dark place. The seed will germinate in 2 - 3 weeks. Pot up after about 4 - 8 weeks when the seeds are large enough to handle."
I've never grown cacti before, but I've read that you need a mix of soil, sand and perlite (whatever that may be!) to grow them? All I have is soil, so was wondering what I need to buy/do to successfully grow these seeds. All advice appreciated!
I recommend that you use a good soilless mix designed for cacti and succulents. Of course you can buy all the ingredients and make your own mix, but that actually can be more expensive in the long run, plus you need space to store the bags of leftover ingredients.
